Faris Al-Hilu Returns to the Arts After More Than 14 Years "Tim Hassan: "Your Return Lights Up 'Mawlana' for Ramadan 2026

Syrian actor Tim Hassan surprised fans with the news that Faris Al-Hilu is joining the cast of "Mawlana", following a hiatus of more than 14 years from the entertainment scene, sparking widespread reaction among followers.

Shortly before filming began in Lebanon, Tim Hassan welcomed his colleague by posting a photo of him on Instagram Stories, commenting: "The great artist Faris Al-Hilu, your return lights up 'Mawlana' for Ramadan 2026", a move widely seen as an official announcement of Faris Al-Hilu’s return to drama.

Convincing a Return to Acting

It is believed that Tim Hassan played a key role in persuading his colleague to return to acting after an absence of around 15 years, due to his political stances and his departure from Syria. Now, Faris Al-Hilu returns to the screen with a new project set to compete in the upcoming Ramadan season.

Faris Al-Hilu also reposted the welcome image on his official page, confirming his joining the production, without revealing any details about the character he will play in "Mawlana", which also stars the veteran actress Mona Wassef and rising star Nour Ali. The series is written by Lubna Haddad and directed by Samer Barqawi.

Faris Al-Hilu’s Latest Work

Faris Al-Hilu’s last dramatic appearance was in the Syrian series "Wujuh wa Amakin" in 2015, directed by Haitham Haqi, which was fully filmed in Turkey, before disappearing from the artistic scene for several years.
