Saudi Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel announced the start of clinical trials for AI-powered doctors, considered among the first of their kind worldwide
During his speech at the Global Health Forum in Riyadh, the minister explained that the initiative seeks to explore the best ways to use artificial intelligence for accurate disease diagnosis and to offer direct healthcare recommendations
He added that the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia have granted the necessary approvals for participating companies to begin the study
The minister noted that these efforts come amid increasing global health challenges, including the rise of chronic diseases, which account for the majority of deaths, as well as soaring healthcare costs exceeding $10 trillion annually
