"Stumbling beginnings and a powerful ending... Mayar Al-Noury reveals the behind-the-scenes of "Special Arrangement

Syrian actor and director Mayar Al-Noury confirmed that the series "Tarteeb Khass" ("Special Arrangement") marked a major turning point in his directing career, noting that the show's success motivated him to expand his vision and ambitions in the field of drama.
The son of renowned actor Abbas Al-Noury explained in a televised interview on a satellite channel that the series came after a critical self-review of a dramatic script titled "The Last Call", which consisted of ten tragic episodes. Despite its professionalism, he wasn’t satisfied with the content and later reformulated it under a new concept tackling the idea of the "savior" in our societies.
The Birth of "Special Arrangement"He stated that the project started as a ten-episode tragedy before he presented his new concept to the producers and writers, leading to the creation of the series "Special Arrangement" as the audience eventually saw it.
“I wanted to talk about that young man who thinks he can change people’s lives and give advice without having the proper tools,” he said.
He added that the character of Ahmed Al-Asabii, portrayed by Maxim Khalil, was designed to be emotionally and socially impactful. The role was given all the dramatic tools needed to portray the character's psychological and intellectual transformations throughout the story.
A Special Collaboration with Abbas Al-NourySpeaking about working with his father, actor Abbas Al-Noury, Mayar said their trust was built through previous short film projects he had directed. He admitted he was initially hesitant to offer his father a guest role in the series, especially since the show focused on a solo lead performance. However, he was surprised by his father's warm welcome to the idea, adding that Abbas added his personal touch to the role.“Abbas Al-Noury saw in me a director with a new perspective — that’s one of the most important takeaways from this experience,” he said.
A Youthful Vision in a First Directing Experience“Special Arrangement” marks Mayar Al-Noury’s debut as a drama director. He co-wrote the script alongside Fouad Yammine and Rami Awad.
The series featured a notable cast, including Maxim Khalil, Natasha Choufani, Fouad Yammine, Carole El-Hajj, and Lyn Ghara. Abbas Al-Noury appeared as a guest star, alongside Serena Mohamed and Yara Al-Doulani.
