"The Iconic Face of Horror Passes Away: Ed Gale, the Actor Who Played "Chucky

American actor Ed Gale, best known for portraying the terrifying doll "Chucky" in the popular horror film series Child’s Play, has died at the age of 61 in a care facility in Los Angeles.
The news of his passing was confirmed by his niece Kacie in an emotional post on Facebook. She wrote: "With heavy hearts and an unexpectedly light casket, we announce the sudden passing of our uncle. Ed Gale has left this world, and is now a leading star in the afterlife."
Kacie noted that Gale had appeared in more than 130 projects during his career, including films, television shows, and commercials, leaving behind a significant artistic legacy. She added: "Ed’s favorite role was being the 'fun uncle,' and his love language was sharing his passion for Hollywood and the entertainment industry with his nieces. He had a funny laugh, and we will miss him dearly."
A Glimpse Into His Life and Career
Born with dwarfism, Ed Gale grew up in Plainwell, Michigan. He began his acting career in 1986, starring in the film Howard the Duck.
In 1988, he took on the role of "Chucky" in the first installment of Child’s Play, directed by Tom Holland and starring Chris Sarandon, Catherine Hicks, Alex Vincent, and Dinah Manoff.
Gale reprised his role as the infamous killer doll in Child’s Play 2 (1990) and Bride of Chucky (1998). He also appeared in several other films, including Spaceballs, The Jungle Book, and Tiptoes.
