A tragic incident occurred in Boulaq Dakrour, Giza, resulting in the death of a family consisting of a couple and three children due to asphyxiation caused by a gas leak in their apartment while they were sleeping. The incident sparked widespread grief, distress, and concern among the local residents.

According to a report received by the relevant authorities, the bodies of the five family members were found in their home. Security forces immediately rushed to the scene, accompanied by ambulances. After the initial examination, it was determined that the cause of death was gas leakage during the family’s sleep, and the bodies were transported to the hospital under the jurisdiction of the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

The incident has drawn attention to the alarming recurrence of gas leaks in homes in recent times, causing fear among citizens.

Similarly, a couple in Dafsh village, Samalout, Minya died due to a gas leak in their apartment; the husband passed away first, followed by the wife ten days later after her stay in the hospital.

On November 29, another incident in Minya involved four people suffering from gas asphyxiation in Maghagha; fortunately, medical teams managed to save their lives.

In the latest incident, a gas pipe exploded inside a residential building in Imbaba, Giza, on Thursday evening, injuring four people with various injuries. The authorities managed to control the fire, while a comprehensive investigation was launched to determine the cause.

These repeated gas leakage incidents remain a painful shock to society, highlighting the importance of awareness about safe gas usage at home and taking preventive measures to protect lives.
