  • Around 100 chefs joined a large-scale dessert-making event
  • Heavy use of ingredients including about two tonnes of cheese and 19,000 eggs

Italian chefs have set a new world record for the longest tiramisu after creating a 440.6-metre version of the dessert, surpassing the previous record of 273.5 metres set in Milan.

About 100 chefs gathered at Chelsea Town Hall in the United Kingdom, working for hours to assemble the dessert into one continuous piece.

The creation used around two tonnes of mascarpone cheese and 19,000 eggs, following strict rules set by Guinness World Records, which require the food to be prepared and assembled on-site in front of the public.

The process took roughly five hours, after which the dessert was cut into portions that will be sold, with proceeds going to charity.
