The Jordanian Artists Syndicate reaffirmed its firm stance against the random or inaccurate use of the title “artist,” stressing the importance of verifying the legal and professional status of any individual before granting or circulating such a description in media outlets and social media platforms.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and received by Roya TV, the syndicate said it had followed the circulated videos and statements attributed to a person claiming to be an “artist,” confirming that the content included offensive and religiously inaccurate remarks that are completely rejected and do not align with the societal and cultural values upon which Jordanian art is based.

“No connection to it”

The syndicate clarified, within its professional and national responsibility, that the person in question has no connection to it, is not registered in its official records, and has never been dealt with or recognized within any official artistic or union framework.

It also strongly rejected any insult to religious values or any attempt to exploit the title of art to harm society or spread discord, stressing that true art is a noble message that respects national and religious constants and contributes to cultural awareness, and cannot be used as a platform for misinformation or misconduct.

In the same context, the syndicate confirmed its full right to take all necessary legal measures against anyone who insults the Jordanian artistic community or falsely claims its title, in coordination with the relevant authorities, should such practices continue.

The statement concluded by calling on media outlets and social media users to verify accuracy and credibility before circulating or publishing any information, and to ensure it comes from official and reliable sources.
