In a strikingly candid confession, Egyptian actor Ahmed Salah El Saadani revealed his regret over several decisions he made early in his acting career, stressing that they had a negative impact on his journey and cost him opportunities that could have changed the course of his professional path.

El Saadani explained in media statements that he was deeply affected by being labeled as “the son of an actor,” which led him at an early stage to make a firm decision to refuse working with his father, despite appearing with him only once in the series “A Man in the Age of Globalization” in 2002.

He added that he informed his father of his desire to rely on himself and build his own name away from comparisons or family shadow. However, this decision had negative consequences, as he stayed away from the acting scene for three years, later returning in minor roles that did not match his ambitions, in an attempt to re-establish his presence.

“Golden opportunities”

El Saadani admitted that he regrets this insistence, noting that he lost what he described as “golden opportunities,” including participation in the series “Al-Batiniya” in 2010.

He also revealed that he missed opportunities to work with major stars, including the late Noor El-Sherif, after turning down roles in his productions three times, saying his decisions at the time were driven by “youthful enthusiasm and a desire for rebellion.”

He concluded by emphasizing that standing alongside major artistic figures would have given him deeper experience and greater opportunities for growth, but his stubbornness early on deprived him of that, considering this period one of the most regrettable phases of his career.
