The president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, officially announced Thursday evening that Moroccan coach Mohamed Wahbi has been appointed to succeed Walid Regragui as head of the national team.

This decisive move comes shortly after Regragui’s departure, marking the start of a new chapter for Morocco under different technical leadership.

Lekjaa made the announcement during a special ceremony honoring Regragui for his contributions to Moroccan football, saying: “Mr. Wahbi is the national team coach, and I have full confidence in him.”

The timing of this appointment is particularly significant, coming less than four months before the kickoff of the World Cup finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
