Heather Thompson, 32, was found dead along with her two children and grandmother from gunshot wounds at a home in Waverly, USA, on January 2.

The identities of the other three victims were confirmed as Arius Thompson, 4, Ishaya Johnson, 13, and Evelyn Johnson, 88.

Sheriff Chris Davis stated that preliminary investigations suggest Heather killed the three victims before taking her own life.

Investigators confirmed that the bodies had not been left in the home for an extended period before being discovered.

Davis added that Heather was separated from the father of the children and had no prior reports of domestic violence or psychological problems, according to the report.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case while the sheriff’s office awaits autopsy results.

The children’s father, Biah Thompson, launched a fundraising campaign to return his sons’ bodies from Tennessee to New Mexico, raising over $11,000 so far.

He wrote on Facebook: “As a father, I felt the pain and my heart broke when I heard the news. They were just two children.”

He added: “I wish every moment today that I could wake up from this nightmare.”
