  • Man accused of killing his son
  • Complications from head injury as an infant

A British court has charged a man with murder after his son died 14 years following a severe head injury sustained as an infant.

Police stated that 42-year-old Lejonnay Wood, from Wuppertal, Germany, appeared before Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court following his arrest at Heathrow Airport. He was charged with the alleged murder of his son, Lejonnay Wood, who died at the age of 14 in 2021.

The child, who was four months old at the time, suffered life-altering injuries after an incident in December 2007 in Hayes, west London, according to police.

During the court hearing, Wood confirmed his identity, and he is scheduled to appear before Old Bailey Crown Court on Tuesday.

Forensic reports in 2023 revealed that Lejonnay’s death resulted from complications of a severe head injury, according to police.

Catherine Evans, the public prosecutor, confirmed that the father is accused of killing his child.
