A couple staying at a hotel in Krabi, Thailand, faced a frightening ordeal when a large black cobra slithered into their room while they were sleeping, according to a video that recently circulated on social media.

The incident occurred in the early hours of March 27, when the wife woke up feeling something cold and slithering across her neck, quickly realizing that a snake had crawled on her.

In a panic, she jumped out of bed and woke her husband, who initially thought it was just a nightmare before hearing the snake’s threatening hiss.

She said, “The snake… it crawled over my neck.”

Hotel staff called in a wildlife response team, which managed to extract the agitated snake from under the bed and return it to its natural habitat, with neither guest being bitten. The couple described the experience as extremely shocking and frightening.

The snake was identified as a large black cobra, approximately 1.5 meters long, believed to have entered the room through a small gap under the door.

The video quickly went viral, prompting local authorities and travel experts to warn tourists to keep doors and windows tightly closed, especially in resorts near natural areas.

Thailand is home to more than 200 species of snakes, around 60 of which are venomous, and hospitals across the country treat an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 snakebite cases annually.
