The management of the Hollywood Arab Film Festival announced the selection of actress Riham Abdel Ghafour to be honored as part of its fifth edition, in recognition of her rich artistic career filled with success and contributions, during the period from April 17 to April 20.

Riham Abdel Ghafour will be awarded the “Aziza Amir Award,” in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Arab drama and cinema, as she has successfully established herself as one of the most prominent stars, thanks to her distinctive performance and her ability to leave a clear mark in every work she participates in, along with her continuous impact on the audience and the artistic scene.

Special recognition

This honor comes in conjunction with another tribute she recently received during the opening of the 15th edition of the Luxor African Film Festival, where she received her award from actor Mahmoud حميدة, the honorary president of the festival, in the presence of screenwriter Seid Fouad and director Azza El-Husseiny, while actor Hamza El-Ayli introduced her with words praising her artistic experience, describing her as a model of a sincere and distinguished actress.

On the level of works, the film “Barshama” will conclude the fifth edition of the Hollywood Arab Film Festival, where Riham Abdel Ghafour stars alongside a group of prominent actors, most notably actor Hisham Majed, who will also be honored by receiving the Artistic Excellence Award in recognition of his career and artistic impact.

“Barshama” is considered one of the standout films of the season, as it blends comedy with a human-centered narrative, achieving remarkable success at the Egyptian box office, with revenues exceeding 120 million pounds and ticket sales approaching 900,000 within just two weeks of its release.

The film features a large group of actors, including Bassem Samra, Mostafa Gharib, Hatem Salah, Fadwa Abed, Kamal Abu Raya, Arifa Abdel Rasoul, Walid Fawaz, Faten Saeed, and Ahmed Mohareb, and it is directed by Khaled Diab, with writing contributions from Sherine Diab and Ahmed El-Zoghbi.

The events of the film take place in a satirical setting inside a high school exam hall, where events take an unexpected turn after the death of the supervisor, prompting the students to try to hide the matter and continue cheating, amid chaotic situations and diverse characters, in a storyline that combines comedy and human drama, turning the experience into a series of funny and unexpected situations.
