British teen arrested on suspicion of ending elderly man’s life

A 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the death of an elderly man in Tamworth, UK
The suspect is accused in connection with the death of 73-year-old Dennis Whiston, who died in hospital after suffering a head injury during an assault in the Belgrave area of Tamworth
Initially held on suspicion of serious assault, the teenager was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody for questioning, Staffordshire Police confirmed
Authorities stated they are not seeking any other individuals in relation to the incident
Whiston’s family expressed gratitude for the messages, cards, and flowers they received in his memory, saying: Words cannot express how much Dennis was loved and respected as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
They added: We kindly ask the public to respect our privacy and allow us time to mourn without constant speculation on social media regarding the circumstances of his death
Police confirmed that investigations into the circumstances of Whiston’s death are ongoing
