Emotional details of the ending of an Egyptian judo player's life while saving her children – photo

In a shocking crime that rattled both Egyptian and Arab public opinion, Sumoha Club judo athlete Dina Alaa in Alexandria lost her life after being shot three times by her husband following her attempt to stop him from harming their children.
Egyptian media outlets, citing preliminary investigations, reported that police found Dina’s body inside her apartment after she was struck by three bullets, while her husband was also found injured from a gunshot nearby. The two children were present in the home at the time of the incident.
According to the information, the husband is considered the primary suspect, having fired at his wife after she tried to protect their children, and then attempting to end his own life by shooting himself.
Investigation into the incident Alexandria authorities confirmed they have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances of the case and gather evidence. Forensic experts collected bullet casings and lifted fingerprints under the guidance of the public prosecutor, in addition to taking witness statements. Dina’s body is set to be examined by the forensic department to determine the exact cause of death.
After the autopsy was completed, the public prosecutor allowed Dina Alaa’s body to be handed over to her family for burial.
