The journey of the film "Frqat Al-Mawt" appears to still be stumbling before reaching its final destination, as the film starring Ahmed Ezz has been facing a series of delays and interruptions since filming began nearly three years ago, with no confirmed completion date yet.

In an unexpected development, the filmmakers decided to halt the remaining scenes and remove the film from this year’s cinema release schedule, a move that reflects the ongoing setbacks the project has faced since its beginning, raising questions about its future and when it will finally see the light.

The reasons behind the delay are linked to multiple artistic commitments, as director Ahmed Alaa El-Deeb became busy preparing a new film, in addition to Ahmed Ezz’s other obligations, which disrupted the filming schedule and led to the delay in completing the project on time.

This is not the first time the film has been postponed, as it has already faced more than five delays, the latest being in June 2025, due to Ahmed Ezz being busy filming major projects abroad, which forced the team to rearrange priorities and delay production once again.

Despite these obstacles, hopes remain for completing the film in the near future, especially as it brings together a group of prominent stars. The story is set in the 1940s and follows an officer tasked with forming a special unit to pursue one of the most dangerous outlaws, in a dramatic and suspenseful narrative.

The film features several notable names alongside Ahmed Ezz, including Asser Yassin, Menna Shalaby, and Mahmoud Hamida. It is written by Salah El-Geheiny and directed by Ahmed Alaa El-Deeb, amid anticipation over the fate of this long-awaited cinematic project.
