Dalia Farag: "The relationship I had with Samah Abdel Aziz went beyond the boundaries of divorce." Dalia Farag: "We spent the last 20 days constantly together, all of us."

Dalia Farag, the former wife of the late director Samah Abdel Aziz and mother of his daughters, expressed her deep sorrow over his sudden passing and shared with her followers details of the last days they spent together.

Dalia emphasized that their relationship went beyond the bounds of divorce, becoming a bond filled with love and mutual influence.

She wrote on her official Facebook account: "What we have is something only we understand... We understand each other's details... We understand each other from a look... We argue, get upset, swear not to talk again—almost half of the fasting days I fast are wasted on swearing—but the moment you speak to me, I forget and make up immediately because I know your heart is kind... a big and heavy baby."

She added that their relationship was special and unique, understood only by them, saying: "What’s inside us belongs only to us... We have a strong influence on each other... There is a special and different place inside each of us for the other... My lifelong companion, my love, the father of my daughters."

Regarding the final days before his death, Dalia said the thing that consoles her most at the moment of farewell is their closeness in those last days: "Even though you have gone, what comforts me is that we spent the last 20 days all together... I hope I did not fail you... I will miss you so much, my love, my dear, as I always told you: ‘You are precious,’ and you replied: ‘My love.’"

She concluded her post with a prayer for his soul, expressing hope that he could bear the responsibilities of the life he left behind, adding: "I wish this was just a disturbing nightmare... The departure was too soon."

A Strong Bond

In another post, Dalia rejected being described as “the ex-wife,” affirming that the bond between them was stronger than any legal paper or formal title. She recalled a humorous moment at the hospital where Samah introduced her to others by saying: "This is my wife."

She also expressed how hard it is to accept the news and asked her followers to understand her silence, saying: "I thought I would wake up and find it all a dream... but unfortunately, it was real. I need some time to process... I’m really exhausted mentally and physically."

The director Samah Abdel Aziz passed away on Thursday after his health suddenly deteriorated due to a viral blood infection that caused a severe spike in his blood sugar level, leading to his hospitalization where he died, amid deep sorrow among his colleagues and fans in the artistic community.
