Writer and screenwriter Hesham Ayiba confirmed that there is still no official agreement to produce a second season of the series “Sahab Al-Ard,” despite its remarkable success.

He explained that the series was never intended to present a comprehensive picture of what is happening in Palestine, but rather focused on a specific human angle and one story among thousands of painful stories in Gaza. He pointed out that one of the series’ key achievements was opening the door for other dramatic works to address the issue with greater boldness and realism.

Challenges and Sensitivity of the Topic

Ayiba revealed the major challenges he faced during the writing process, noting that the difficulty was not only due to the sensitivity of the subject, but also the need for precise historical and factual accuracy. This became even more complex as he took over the project after four episodes had already been written by other writers, before rebuilding and fully developing the screenplay.

He added that this development helped present the series in a different and more engaging form, which contributed to its strong reception and its broadcast twice during last Ramadan.

In another development, Ayiba announced that he has officially signed to write a series about the life of the late doctor and thinker Mostafa Mahmoud, describing the project as a major challenge to bring one of the most influential and controversial figures in Egypt to the screen.

“Between Doubt and Certainty”

Meanwhile, United Media Services released the teaser for the series “Between Doubt and Certainty,” scheduled to air in Ramadan 2027. The series explores the life of Mostafa Mahmoud and is expected to be one of the most prominent and large-scale productions of the season.

The series is directed by Kamelah Abu Zekry and written by Hesham Ayiba, in cooperation between United Media Services and Media Hub. It focuses on the intellectual and human aspects of Mostafa Mahmoud’s life, presenting a work that blends historical and philosophical depth with a powerful dramatic narrative.
