In a decisive development that brought an end to one of the most prominent cases that occupied public opinion in Bahrain for years, the Minor Criminal Court issued a ruling acquitting Bahraini artist Hind Al-Bahrainiya of a previous case, after it was proven that false testimony had contributed to an earlier judgment against her.

The court convicted the witness involved in the case, sentencing him to one year in prison with immediate enforcement, along with permanent deportation from the country after serving his sentence. The ruling also granted the artist the right to claim compensation of up to 20,000 Bahraini dinars for damages incurred during the dispute.

The artist responded quickly via her Instagram account, posting a photo of Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice building and praising the Bahraini judiciary, affirming that justice had prevailed—marking the end of a difficult legal chapter in her life.

The ruling sparked widespread public reaction, with her name trending on X across Bahrain and several Gulf countries. Many considered the verdict a restoration of her reputation after years of controversy, praising her resilience, while others saw it as the beginning of a new phase in her career free from legal disputes.

The case dates back to a lawsuit accusing the artist of using three songs without paying financial compensation, based on the testimony of a person claiming ties to the works. However, investigations later revealed contradictions after the actual composer denied any connection to the witness, proving the testimony was inaccurate and ultimately changing the course of the case.

With the issuance of the new ruling, the legal dispute comes to a close, as the artist emerges having restored her legal standing, with expectations that she may pursue further compensation and defamation claims after the accusations she faced in recent years.
