Garlic prices in Jordanian markets have skyrocketed, approaching the prices of some types of meat. This has sparked public discontent and fears that the price hikes will extend to fruits and vegetables as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, as happens at the beginning of every Ramadan. Citizens are calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and effectively control prices to prevent a recurrence of this phenomenon.
