The Jordan Basketball Federation announced that the second final match in the men’s league series between Al-Faisaly and Ittihad Amman will resume from the point at which it was previously halted, with the same officiating crew, after it was suspended earlier by the match commissioner to ensure the safety of all involved.

In a parallel decision, the Federation confirmed the full postponement of the final series until further notice, pending rescheduling and the completion of necessary organizational and administrative procedures following the circumstances surrounding the latest match.

Official dissatisfaction with events

The Federation expressed strong dissatisfaction with what occurred during the game, stating that such incidents do not reflect the values of sport or the spirit of fair competition. It stressed that the behaviour witnessed was unacceptable and contrary to the principles of fair play.

Investigations and expected disciplinary measures

It confirmed that a comprehensive review has already begun of all official reports, including referee and commissioner notes as well as match footage, in preparation for referral to the disciplinary and conduct committee. Strict decisions are expected against any violations to ensure justice and preserve the integrity of the competition.

Strengthening security and organisational measures

The Federation said the incident will undergo a full organisational and security assessment aimed at improving control measures inside sports halls, particularly during decisive stages of competitions, to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

It reiterated its total rejection of any form of violence or misconduct, emphasising that the safety of players, technical staff, referees, and fans remains the highest priority, and that any violations will be dealt with firmly under the applicable regulations.
