- Feature to view stories anonymously in early testing
- Extra tools for tracking engagement and managing audiences
New leaks from Meta reveal that Instagram may soon allow users to view Stories without showing their names, as part of a service believed to be called "Instagram Plus."
Social media expert Matt Navarra shared a screenshot on X detailing the upcoming service, according to Engadget.
The leaks indicate that some users in the Philippines and Mexico have recently seen the offer, suggesting Instagram is testing the feature in a limited rollout before a global launch.
Meta confirmed the existence of Instagram Plus to Engadget, noting that the service will provide several exclusive perks, most notably the ability to "preview" Stories anonymously.
The screenshot showed an eye icon with a line through it, indicating that Instagram Plus users could view a Story without being added to the viewer list.
In addition, subscribers will be able to post 48-hour Stories, create multiple audiences for each Story, see who rewatched a Story, and enjoy other Story-related features.
These perks align with the growing popularity of posting Stories compared to regular posts on a user’s main feed.
