Turkish media circulated news on Monday about the possible involvement of young Turkish actor Sonay Kurtuluş in the mysterious death of his girlfriend, fashion designer and social media star Ayşe Gül Arslan, sparking widespread controversy across social media platforms and local newspapers.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Arslan passed away in her Istanbul home last Friday, and Kurtuluş had left the house about an hour before the incident. According to the actor's statement during the investigation, he visited his girlfriend and they had tea together. He added that the interaction was entirely innocent and that she had playfully slapped him, prompting him to leave the house with a hat she had gifted him a few days earlier.

In a related development, Kurtuluş's lawyer issued a statement on Monday defending his client, emphasizing that portraying him as a central figure in the incident lacks accuracy and may create a misleading impression among the public. The statement also confirmed that reports based on incomplete or false information could harm the course of the investigation and infringe upon the actor's personal rights.

It is noted that Sonay Kurtuluş, born in 1998, holds a university degree in finance and accounting before deciding to pursue a career in acting. He currently plays the role of “Adnan” in the ongoing series Under the Ground, which enjoys wide viewership in Turkey.
