Egyptian actress Maya Omar broke down in front of cameras during her father's funeral, who passed away on Wednesday, reminding some of the painful scene her father's character faced in her new series The Seven Monalisa.

Maya Omar appeared with deep signs of grief, dressed in black, before performing the funeral prayer at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed, Giza, amid notable attendance from the series crew and close family and friends.

Videos from the funeral quickly spread, capturing the extent of the actress's emotional distress, alongside her husband, director Mohamed Sami, who also appeared deeply affected.

The Actors' Syndicate, led by actor Ashraf Zaki, offered condolences to Maya Omar, describing her father's death as "a painful loss," confirming their full support for the actress during this harsh family ordeal.

Director Mohamed Sami announced the death on his Facebook account, writing: "Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return. My wife's father, Omar Badr Abu Hani, is in God's care… We ask for your prayers and Al-Fatiha," praising the deceased's manners and kindness in a message that resonated widely among Maya Omar's fans.
