Police in Dumka, Jharkhand, India, discovered the bodies of a couple and their two children inside a local village, while authorities are investigating the possibility that the father may have killed his family before taking his own life.

The bodies of the wife and children were found inside the house, while the father’s body was discovered in a field some distance from the home.

An official added that local residents first found the father’s body and alerted the police. Upon arrival, investigators discovered the bodies of the wife and children inside the house.

All bodies have been sent for autopsy.

The Director General of Police said the father is the prime suspect, and investigations are ongoing.
