Young Egyptian actress Reem Raafat sparks social media controversy over sudden split from husband

Egyptian actress Reem Raafat caused a wave of controversy on social media after suddenly announcing her separation from her husband, producer Mohamed Hamed, via a post on her personal Facebook page.

Reem wrote: “The separation between Mohamed Hamed and me has occurred, and God willing, the divorce will happen soon. Everything is fate and destiny, and may God bless everyone with goodness.”

The surprise came just a few hours later, when producer Mohamed Hamed announced his return to his wife, only three hours after the separation news.

Hamed shared a photo of himself with Reem Raafat on Facebook, accompanied by a heart emoji, signaling their reunion. Following this, Reem immediately deleted her earlier post about the separation.

Who is Reem Raafat?

Reem Raafat is an Egyptian actress from Cairo. She studied dentistry before turning to the world of arts. She was crowned Miss Egypt in 2018 and began her career in advertisements and fashion shows before moving into acting through several training workshops.

Her first appearance on screen was in the series “Al-Kateeba 101” in 2023, followed by “A’la Nesba Moshahada” and “Ni’met El Avokato” in 2024, as well as the film “3al-Mashy” in the same year.

Successful Projects

During last Ramadan, Reem participated in several successful projects, including “Ayesha El-Dawr” with Donia Samir Ghanem and “W Taqabel Habib” with Yasmine Abdel Aziz. She also stood out in the series “Mamlakat Al-Hareer” with Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz and “Catalog” with Mohamed Farag and Reham Abdel Ghafoor, which aired outside Ramadan and achieved significant success.

Reem is currently preparing for the release of the series “Ibn El-Nady” alongside actor Ahmed Fahmy, scheduled to be released soon on a digital platform, further strengthening her presence in the Egyptian entertainment scene.
