On Tuesday, Jordan witnessed a tragic incident when a mn opened fire on another person, his wife, and their son in the Abu Nuseir area, north of the capital, Amman.

The father and son were fatally shot, while the wife sustained serious injuries, a situation that shocked social media users across the country.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate confirmed in a statement obtained by Roya TV that the shooter’s identity was immediately determined. He was found to be a relative of the victims, surrendered himself to the authorities, and the firearm used in the attack was confiscated. Investigations are still ongoing.

It was later revealed that the victim was a former member of the Jordanian Parliament, known for his good character and generosity, which added to the shock felt by Jordanians expressing outrage over the tragic event.

Autopsy Results The autopsy results of the former MP and his son, who were killed in the attack, revealed that both suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head and chest. A source in the forensic department stated that the autopsies were conducted at the University of Jordan Hospital, in the presence of a legal medical committee and the Public Prosecution for Major Crimes.

The results showed that the former MP was shot three times—two bullets to the head and one to the chest—resulting in immediate death. His son was shot twice in the head, also causing instant death.

Wife’s Condition Stabilizing Regarding the wife’s condition, she sustained a gunshot wound to the neck that fractured her jaw. She remains in the intensive care unit, but her health is gradually improving.

The source added that the suspect, who is related to the victims, carried out the shooting that killed the father and son and injured the wife before surrendering to the security authorities. The Public Prosecution has charged him with two counts of premeditated murder and attempted murder.
