"The late wrote the lyrics to the iconic "Adnan wa Lina
"On Tuesday, the Kuwaiti actor and media personality Fakhri Awda passed away at the age of 84, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy filled with diverse works in theater and television."
Awda was the lyricist behind the iconic theme song of the beloved animated series Adnan wa Lina (Future Boy Conan), and also voiced the character “Allam” in the same series, which gained widespread popularity across the Arab world.
A graduate of Kuwait’s Institute of Theatrical Arts, Class of 1982 (Acting and Directing), Awda began acting at the age of 21. After graduation, he took part in a patriotic role in a documentary program and went on to appear in around six plays and several drama series including Darb Al-Zalaq, Al-Aqdar, Al-Imbratoriya, Al-Bahth ‘An Wazifa, and Fawda—the latter being the first Kuwaiti play to be filmed in color for Kuwait TV in 1976. He also contributed to children’s theater, radio plays, and the TV show Al-Usra.
In his later years, he focused on writing, producing, and directing, while also holding several administrative roles at the Kuwait Ministry of Information.
