Greater Ma"an Municipality employees announced an open-ended strike in protest against what they described as policies that infringe on their financial rights, particularly the decision to reduce annual bonus allocations. The employees asserted that this decision deprived them of previously agreed-upon benefits, including bonuses and overtime, despite their continued performance of their duties amidst staff shortages, rising living costs, and delayed disbursements.
The employees demanded that the Ministry of Local Administration reconsider the annual bonus allocation to reflect the number of employees and the nature of field and service work. They emphasized that they had submitted their observations to official authorities, with no response so far. They indicated that the strike would begin partially before becoming comprehensive, starting Monday, October 20, 2025, to preserve their rights and ensure fairness in the disbursement of benefits.
