Min Hunna Nabda - Overdose of thieves and illegal logging

Roya monitored the outbreak of a large fire in the woodlands and forests of Wadi al-Sham in Jerash Governorate. The fire consumed approximately 200-250 dunams of forest land and destroyed more than 1,400 trees of indigenous local species.

The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that the fire was "arson in every respect," as the flames broke out in three separate, simultaneous locations within an area with rugged terrain and dense forests, reinforcing suspicions of a premeditated intent to set the fire.

For its part, the Ministry of Agriculture indicated that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause, given that the percentage of arson fires has risen to approximately 60% of all forest fires.

The combined efforts of the Civil Defense, the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the police, the Gendarmerie, and the Jerash Agriculture Directorate were able to extinguish the fire within a few hours, despite the difficulty of accessing some areas, without any human casualties.
