Walnut Matbak
For the dough:
2 cups white flour
2 tablespoons melted ghee or butter
3/4 cup warm water (approximately)
A pinch of salt
For the filling:
1 cup crushed walnuts (not finely ground)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
1 teaspoon orange blossom water (optional)
For the topping:
Ghee or butter for brushing the top of the matbak
Cold syrup:
1 cup sugar
½ cup water
Lemon juice
(Optional: orange blossom water or vanilla)
