In this segment of the "From Here We Start" program, residents of the Zaher Al-Sarou area in Jerash Governorate are suffering from a worsening sewage crisis. The project in question has been significantly delayed for over twenty years.
Residents currently rely on septic tanks, which impose a financial burden ranging from 50 to 100 dinars per emptying operation, straining families amidst challenging economic conditions.
These tanks also lead to serious environmental and health issues, such as groundwater contamination and the spread of rodents and insects. The delay in the project has hindered improvements to the neighborhood"s infrastructure, affecting road paving projects and water network upgrades.
Residents are seeking urgent response from the relevant authorities to address this issue, emphasizing that the completion of the project would resolve many problems and enhance their quality of life.
