WhatsApp has begun testing a new feature on its Android beta version that allows users to receive quick summaries of unread messages using artificial intelligence.

According to beta update 2.25.21.12, users can select any unread conversation and get a brief summary of its content, helping them catch up on important messages across multiple chats at once.

The new summaries rely on data processing technology developed by Meta, ensuring that user data is handled in a secure environment where no party—including WhatsApp or Meta—can access the original messages or the generated summaries.
