Moroccan content creator Hamid Achqar has recovered video footage capturing the dramatic rescue of a young girl from drowning after a tractor overturned in floodwaters that swept through Sidi Kacem province in western Morocco in recent weeks.

Achqar said the video was recorded using smart glasses he was wearing at the time of the incident, but he was unable to review the footage then because the device had been damaged.

He recently managed to retrieve the recording and later shared it with his followers on Instagram.

Achqar noted that he had not been fully aware of everything happening at the moment the tractor flipped, explaining that the camera mounted on the glasses captured scenes from a different angle than what he could see while actively taking part in the rescue.

Several areas in northern Morocco were hit by flooding after heavy rainfall caused rivers to swell, prompting authorities to temporarily evacuate thousands of residents. Many have since returned to their homes in recent days.

The clip, which has circulated widely on social media, shows moments of panic among the tractor’s passengers — particularly the young girl who was surrounded by rising waters — before bystanders were able to step in and pull her to safety.
