Charged with endangering her child

Surveillance cameras reveal mother’s “suspicious” behavior

U.S. authorities arrested a woman in Ohio after she was accused of injecting a substance suspected to be feces into her child’s intravenous line at the NationWide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, according to local media reports.

The suspect, Tiffany Leseur, 35, was taken into custody and transferred to the James A. Carnes Correctional Center. She was charged with endangering her child through torture and severe physical abuse, according to official court records.

Injecting her child with an unknown substance Hospital surveillance footage showed Tiffany placing an unknown substance into a syringe and injecting it into the child’s IV feeding tube on February 6, with her movements monitored during subsequent visits. The incident repeated on February 8, when she was seen entering the bathroom with a cup and injecting its contents into the IV.

Christy Jenkins, CEO of the Center for the Prevention of Child and Family Abuse, commented: “It is extremely important that children have a voice, but the child may not be aware of what their mother is doing.”

Authorities issued an order preventing Leseur from contacting her child or any minors without direct supervision. The suspect appeared in court on Tuesday, February 10, and the next hearing was scheduled for February 19 to continue the case.
