  • Young woman dies in tragic university car accident

  • Funeral pays tribute to beloved beauty queen

A 21-year-old student tragically lost her life after being pinned against a wall by her own car outside her university residence in the UK.

Eleisha Skinner, crowned Miss Faversham 2022, was studying social work at Buckinghamshire New University in High Wycombe when the accident occurred.

Reports say she was unloading her belongings when her parked car suddenly rolled back, trapping her against the building. Despite her situation, she called emergency services, who arrived within minutes. She was rushed to the hospital but passed away a few days later despite efforts from medical staff and her housemates.

The university confirmed that she will be awarded a BSc with honours in social work posthumously.

More than 200 people from her hometown of Faversham, Kent, attended her funeral, describing her as “beautiful and kind.” Her coffin was carried by horse-drawn carriage past her former school, The Abbey, to the church, with mourners wearing pink ties in her favourite color.

During the service, Rev. Corcoran said: “Eleisha was stunning and confident, making the world better just by being in it. Her impact will stay with us forever.”

Her older brother Kian added: “I stand here as a proud brother who watched Eleisha grow into a remarkable woman. There will never be anyone to replace my little sister. God bless her, I will always love you, little sis.”

Eleisha had also earned the title of Miss Congeniality at the Miss Kent pageant, reflecting her kind nature. She actively supported local charities, the Faversham Fire Brigade, and community festivals.

Beaconsfield Coroners Court has opened a preliminary investigation, confirming that the parked car pushed her against the wall. A full inquest into her death is scheduled for June 23.
