Alexandria was shaken by a horrific crime that stunned the local public, after a young man lured a woman to his apartment, killed her, dismembered her body, placed it inside a travel bag, and dumped it on the street, causing shock and fear among residents.

According to a statement issued by security authorities, a report was received at the Alexandria Police Directorate about a travel bag containing the dismembered body of a woman, in a state of decomposition after several days, showing multiple stab wounds, indicating extreme violence.

Forensic teams began reviewing surveillance cameras around the location where the bag was found, revealing a person exiting a taxi carrying the bag, leaving it in the street, and fleeing the scene. Police were able to apprehend the taxi driver, who denied any involvement, stating that another passenger had carried the bag and thrown it away.

Investigations revealed that the suspect, originally from Upper Egypt, had rented an apartment in Alexandria and lured the victim, who was of limited mental capacity, exploiting her vulnerability before killing her for robbery. After committing the crime, the suspect dismembered the body, placed it in a travel bag, and fled to Cairo, until security forces located and captured him.

Legal procedures were carried out, and the suspect was presented to the public prosecutor, who ordered his preventive detention pending investigations, while further legal procedures are underway to hold him accountable for this heinous crime that has struck terror among the local community.
