The Egyptian artist Amr Saad surprised his audience with his sudden decision to stop appearing in television drama during the upcoming period.

Amr Saad confirmed in television statements that this step came after five consecutive years of intensive work, in search of real artistic renewal and out of a desire to devote himself to new cinematic projects that would restore his first passion.

For his part, Amr Saad stressed that his decision carries no intention of retirement, but is rather a temporary pause from television drama after five consecutive years of strong and continuous presence, affirming his need for a different artistic challenge and a return to cinema, which he described as “his original home.”

“Artistic and commercial value”

Saad explained that the audience granted him his greatest successes across different parts of the Arab world, expressing his pride in the artistic and commercial value of his works, and stressing at the same time that respecting the audience is the true standard for any artist, and that he cannot present or promote any work he does not trust in terms of its artistic level.

He also pointed to the great effort he made in the film “The Ravens,” noting that he has already signed contracts for several new cinematic films in the coming period, which strengthened his desire to devote himself to cinema at this stage.

Amr Saad spoke about the wide impact his works have achieved among audiences, citing the series “Shari‘ Abd El-Aziz,” which achieved remarkable popularity, and revealing a touching humanitarian incident that reflected the depth of the audience’s connection to the work and its real influence beyond the screen.

In a related context, Amr Saad is currently continuing the filming of the series “Ifraj,” scheduled to be shown within the Ramadan 2026 drama season, starring alongside him: Tara Emad, Hatem Salah, Abdel Aziz Makhyoun, Sama Ibrahim, Jihad Hossam El-Din, Ahmed Abdel Hamid, Omar El-Saeed, Donia Maher, Alaa Morsy, Sherif El-Desouky, Safwa, and Basant Shawky.

The series is written by Ahmed Halaba, Mohamed Fawzy, and Ahmed Bakr, produced by Sadiq El-Sabah, and directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa.
