  • She nderwent surgery after falling on set during filming

  • Condition improving; expected to continue recovery at home

Sawsan Badr is continuing her treatment at a hospital in Egypt and is expected to be discharged soon to complete her recovery at home.

Journalist Soheir Gouda shared details of the accident, saying: "Sawsan Badr was on the set of a series in central Cairo, preparing to shoot her first scenes, when she hit a very small ‘threshold’ only 3 centimeters high, lost her balance, and fell to the ground."

An ambulance was called immediately, and Badr was taken to the nearest hospital. Upon arrival, the medical team advised surgery due to a fracture in her foot joint.

Gouda noted that Badr is experiencing intense bone pain, which she is currently enduring. She is managing the pain with support from her fans and colleagues, while no date has been set yet for her return to work.

Badr recently participated in the Gulf series Al-Ba’ Tahtahu Nuqta 2, set to air next Ramadan, promoting it with behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram alongside co-stars, including Lubna Abdulaziz and Mais Al-Qamar, commenting: "Stay tuned for Al-Ba’ Tahtahu Nuqta 2 this Ramadan."

She is also appearing in the 2026 Ramadan drama series Al-Sitt Mona Lisa, directed by Mohamed Ali and written by Mohamed Said Basheer. The series consists of 15 episodes and follows a suspenseful social drama narrative.
