Egyptian actor Mouhy Ismail was transferred on Thursday from the hospital to the Care Home for Senior Artists in “6th of October City” after his health condition stabilized, in a move that reflects the ongoing efforts of the Egyptian Actors’ Syndicate to provide proper healthcare and social care for its senior members.
The syndicate explained in an official statement that the decision reflects its commitment to offering adequate care to veteran artists, emphasizing that it spares no effort to provide the necessary support, in recognition of their long-standing artistic contributions and their role in enriching Egypt’s artistic and cultural scene.
The syndicate also stated that it is closely monitoring Mouhy Ismail’s condition, wishing him continuous health and well-being, and stressed that its doors are always open to provide support at any time and under any circumstances.
Mouhy Ismail’s Sudden Health Crisis It is noteworthy that Mouhy Ismail suffered a sudden health crisis last December, which required hospitalization due to severe dehydration and kidney failure, resulting from diabetes complications. He underwent intensive treatment under medical supervision for several weeks.
Mouhy Ismail moved between three hospitals until his condition stabilized at the third hospital, before the decision to transfer him to the Artists’ Care Home, where he will join several of his colleagues receiving healthcare and social support, including his brother, the writer Bahig Ismail.
The Artists’ Care Home hosts a number of senior figures from the artistic community, including poet Kawthar Mostafa, Hamdi Al-Arabi, Faten Helou, Mohamed Al-Damrdash, Awatef Helmy, Gamal Saleh, Hussein Masoud, among others, providing a supportive environment that offers senior artists care and reassurance.
