Amr Adib: "My private life is no one’s business." Amr Adib: "Chasing trends will add nothing of value."

Egyptian media personality Amr Adib put an end to the controversy surrounding his separation from journalist Lamis El Hadidi and his personal life, stressing that privacy is a human right and should not be subject to trends or public curiosity.

During his participation in the Joy Awards ceremony in Riyadh, Adib emphasized that his personal life is private, not for public discussion or social media debate.

He said: "Everything related to my work is open to criticism and evaluation. My private life, however, is no one’s business; it is a red line like for any other human being. Everything I present on screen is open to critique and difference of opinion, but personal details are completely off-limits for discussion."

The media figure criticized what he described as the "growing obsession" with trends and view counts, adding: "Those who want to follow us should follow the work we produce; chasing trends will add nothing of value. We now live what can be called the 'curse of the counter,' where success is measured by likes and shares, not by the thought or real impact contained in the content."

It is noted that Amr Adib ended his marriage with Lamis El Hadidi after more than 25 years together, forming one of the most famous media couples in Egypt and the Arab world, both professionally and personally. The announcement of the divorce came weeks after rumors of tension between the two, without any comment at the time, maintaining their privacy away from the spotlight.
