Angelina Jolie visited the Rafah crossing to check the humanitarian relief efforts and show solidarity with the Palestinian people, in a move that received widespread attention.

She was received at the crossing by Major General Khaled Mujawer, Governor of North Sinai, and Ambassador Nadia Makram Abid, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Coalition for Civil Development Work.

The visit included a tour of the logistics warehouses of the Egyptian Red Crescent, which provide essential supplies to the Gaza Strip.

Jolie also checked on the Palestinian wounded receiving treatment at Egyptian medical facilities, in a gesture reflecting her personal concern for humanitarian issues.
