Egyptian actor Ahmed Fahmy apologized to his ex-wife, actress Hana El Zahed, after he announced on a TV program that he was the one who initiated the divorce. This happened during an interview in last Ramadan when the host asked Fahmy, "Who asked for the divorce?" He replied directly, "I swear it was me."

After the episode aired, Hana El Zahed posted on her personal Facebook account: "Whoever has no morals has no value," which many social media users interpreted as an indirect message to her ex-husband.

"A surprising question"

Fahmy commented on the incident during his appearance on another program, saying: "I did not intend to upset or embarrass her during the episode, and if that happened, I apologize to her. Ramez caught me off guard with this surprising question, so I told the truth, even though I had asked him before the episode not to touch on my relationship with Hana El Zahed in any way. He added: "If I wanted to exploit my story with Hana El Zahed, I could have casually mentioned her on the program, especially since it is the most-watched show during Ramadan, but I completely reject that. I feel very upset that my relationship with her has become a subject for the media."
