Nashwa Mostafa: “Es’ad Younis checked on me” Nashwa Mostafa: “I’ll pray dinner and pray against the people spreading rumors”
Egyptian actress Nashwa Mostafa broke her silence regarding the circulating rumors about her death and alleged arrest, which had deeply upset her.
Nashwa addressed the issue through a live broadcast from her home on her official Facebook account, saying that she does not usually do live streams but felt compelled to do so to put an end to the rumors. She noted that the video was recorded after her grandchildren had left and she was sitting with them in a calm family setting.
“The rumors upset those close to me”
The actress explained that the rumors had disturbed her close ones, particularly fellow actress Es’ad Younis, who made sure to check on her after reading the false reports. Nashwa added:
"Es’ad Younis called me to check and ask if I had any legal issues. She was embarrassed telling me she read about my supposed arrest. Many others also checked on me. The rumor claimed I was arrested because of a dispute with actress Hend Akef… but I am at home, not arrested, and I’ve never had any problem with Hend Akef or any colleague, nor have I caused trouble with anyone."
Nashwa confirmed her well-being, saying: "I’m fine, I’m not dead and I wasn’t arrested. To those who profit from these rumors, shame on you, fear God, and remember we will all die and be alone in our graves with our deeds."
The actress continued with further clarifications in a long Facebook post: "People who live off rumors… one time it was a rumor that I died, another that I fought with a colleague and got arrested… I’m sorry for what I’m saying, but anyone who invents rumors is truly disrespectful."
She concluded her message reassuring her fans: "I want to reassure everyone who loves me—I’m at home, drinking sahlab and wearing a cloak. I’ll pray dinner and pray against those who are disrespectful and spread rumors… The video showing me and my son supporting me was from the day my late husband passed away, may he rest in peace, and yet you turned it into more pain for me."
