- MP Renuka Chaudhary brings stray puppy into parliament
- Criticizes ruling politicians, calls them real dogs
Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary on Monday brought a puppy, which she said was stray, into the Parliament premises, ignoring objections from some MPs, and described the ruling politicians as “the real dogs sitting in Parliament and biting people every day.”
Chaudhary explained that she rescued the puppy on her way to Parliament in the morning, after witnessing a collision between a scooter and a car and noticing the puppy wandering near the road.
To keep the puppy safe, she placed it in her car and brought it along to Parliament, where it stayed inside the vehicle only and left shortly after Chaudhary departed.
She said: “Is there any law? I was on my way. A scooter collided with a car, and this little puppy was wandering on the road. I feared it would get run over. So I picked it up, put it in the car, brought it to Parliament, and sent it home. So what’s the point of this discussion?”
Without naming any MPs from the National Democratic Alliance, she added: “The real dogs that bite are the ones sitting in Parliament running the government. We take care of a mute animal, and it becomes a major issue. I sent the puppy home and told them to keep it there… but we don’t talk about those sitting in Parliament biting us every day.”
This incident occurred during a parliamentary session marked by repeated protests and slogans from opposition MPs in the Lok Sabha, demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision project across the country.
