Escalation of the Crisis Between Sherine Abdel Wahab and Her Former Social Media Manager

Sherine Abdel Wahab Accuses Youssef Sarour of Embezzling $84,000 Youssef Sarour Files Complaint Alleging Insults and Threats by Sherine
The legal dispute between Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab and her former social media manager Youssef Sarour continues, as both parties have filed official complaints against each other, marking a new escalation in their ongoing conflict.
On Thursday, Sherine Abdel Wahab filed an official complaint against Youssef Sarour, accusing him of embezzling $84,000 from the earnings of her social media accounts and unlawfully benefiting from the funds, despite the termination of their professional relationship, according to Egyptian media sources.
Escalation of the Dispute
In response, Youssef Sarour filed a complaint with Sheikh Zayed Police Station, accusing Sherine Abdel Wahab of insulting and threatening him over disagreements related to account management and passwords, indicating a mutual escalation of the conflict.
The roots of this dispute trace back to Sherine Abdel Wahab’s statements in 2024, when she told the public not to rely on any news posted on her official accounts, noting that some previous posts had caused issues with other parties, prompting her to refrain from certain social media-related matters.
This escalation comes despite a ruling by the Cairo Economic Court on October 22, which acquitted Sherine Abdel Wahab of the charges of insult and defamation against Youssef Sarour. However, the disagreements between the two have not subsided, leaving the possibility of further legal escalation in the near future.
