New development in the "Amr Diab slap" incident

Both Parties Referred to the Misdemeanor Court; Amr Diab Charged with Assault Amr Diab Fined 200 Pounds in Slapping Incident
Lawyers representing Egyptian singer Amr Diab have filed an official appeal against the recent court ruling that fined him 200 Egyptian pounds, following accusations that he assaulted the young man Saad Osama during one of his concerts.
The New Cairo Misdemeanor Appeal Court had upheld the original ruling, which fined "El-Hadaba" after being found guilty of slapping Saad Osama. This prompted Diab’s defense team to review the decision and request a reconsideration of the case in court.
Incident Details
According to investigations, both parties were referred to the misdemeanor court, with Amr Diab charged with assault, while Saad Osama was accused of harassing the singer during the concert.
Lawyer Ashraf Abdel Aziz, a member of Diab’s defense team, told the press that his client did not intend to assault Osama, but rather was responding to a clear verbal provocation from him, demanding that the singer be acquitted of the charges.
During the investigation sessions, Saad Osama stated that he tried to take a commemorative photo with Diab, but the singer slapped him in front of the audience, which Osama considered an assault. Meanwhile, Amr Diab denied the accusations, explaining that his reaction was due to a deliberate verbal provocation from Osama.
Legal Proceedings
The competent court is expected to review the appeal filed by Diab’s defense team in the coming weeks to decide whether to uphold the previous ruling or overturn it. The case continues to attract wide attention on social media, sparking significant debate among fans and followers of the artist.
