Fire caused by electrical short circuit from a mobile phone charger Death of a woman, her three children, and her sister with her infant son

A tragic incident struck Al-Qalyubia Governorate in Egypt, where an entire family lost their lives after a massive fire broke out in an apartment during the night while all its residents were asleep.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit from a mobile phone charger, which led to the rapid spread of flames throughout the apartment, home to two sisters and their four children.

Eyewitnesses reported that thick smoke and towering flames erupted from the apartment, and neighbors attempted to extinguish the fire, but their efforts failed amid screams of horror that filled the area.

Suffocation before escape

Authorities were immediately notified, and fire brigades rushed to the scene and managed to bring the flames under control. However, the dense smoke caused all family members to suffocate before they could escape, resulting in their deaths.

The police secured the bodies, which included the woman, her three children, and her sister with her infant son, after cooling the apartment to prevent the fire from reigniting, in preparation for completing investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
