Egyptian actor Kareem Fahmy candidly revealed one of the toughest periods in his life, explaining that he went through a sudden health crisis after suffering two lung clots, which made him rethink many aspects of life. He also opened up about painful childhood experiences and his relationship with his wife, Dania Al-Banawi, who has supported him since the very beginning.

Fahmy said in a podcast interview: “The period of illness was one of the hardest moments I’ve experienced. I suddenly had two lung clots, and at that moment I realized how meaningless many of the conflicts we go through in life are. People argue over trivial things, and nothing is worth all that stress.”

Reflecting on his childhood, he shared a hidden side of his personality: “I was a very sensitive child and faced bullying. I still remember when my art teacher told my classmates that my drawing was bad. That moment stayed with me. I always felt different, like nobody understood me, yet I was convinced that what I was doing was right.”

Regarding his love story with his wife Dania, Fahmy said it was a turning point in his life: “Dania has been my support from the start. I proposed to her when I had nothing, but she believed in me and took a chance—and her bet paid off.”

220 Days Fahmy’s latest work was the series 220 Days, starring alongside Saba Mubarak, Hanan Suleiman, Aida Riyad, Ali Al-Tayeb, Lina Sophia, and Youssef Raafat. The series was written by Mahmoud Zahran, with screenplay and dialogue by Samar Bahgat and Nadine, and directed by Kareem Al-Adl.
