Egyptian actor Hassan El Raddad revealed a different side of his wife, actress Emy Samir Ghanem, emphasizing that the image the public sees of her doesn’t necessarily reflect her true personality. Behind her familiar cheerful smile, he said, lies a calm and serious woman, far removed from the comedic atmosphere she is best known for.

Speaking on the podcast “Fadfadit Awy” with director Moataz El Tony, El Raddad explained that Emy prefers solitude and tranquility in her daily life, spending most of her time watching old black-and-white films and listening to classic Arabic songs. He noted that she can’t tolerate noise or modern loud music, joking: “If we’re at the North Coast and the new music starts playing loudly, she can’t stand it for more than five minutes before asking to turn it off.”

El Raddad added that Emy inherited her calm nature from her late father, the legendary comedian Samir Ghanem, who also preferred quiet gatherings and friendly conversations with background music from singers like Mohamed Fawzi or Farid Al Atrash.

Regarding her relationship with TikTok, El Raddad shared that Emy is very fond of the platform and records plenty of funny videos, though she keeps them private. He said she has a great sense of humor but sometimes prefers not to appear on camera in casual moments. Recalling a funny incident, he said: “Once I asked her to film a promo video for our series; she refused, so I did it alone. Then a fan commented, ‘Shame on you for leaving Emy at home!’ even though she was sitting right next to me!”

In closing, El Raddad talked about their son Fadi, who is nearly two years old, saying he combines traits from both parents: “He’s got my energy and her sense of humor,” El Raddad said with a smile. “I think he’s going to be really funny when he grows up.”
